One of the Catholic Church's greatest blessings is our Sacrament of Reconciliation as it gives us the opportunity to be absolved of our sins.   Reconciliation or Confession assures the remorseful person of God's forgiveness through God's representative, the Priest.

As in the parable about the prodigal son, who "coming to his senses" was welcomed back into the loving arms of his Father, we too need to "come to our senses" and realize our sinfulness so that we may be embraced by God, Our Father, and his loving gift of forgiveness.
