You are taking the first step on a spiritual journey that will lay the foundation of Christian life.

1214 this sacrament is called Baptism, after the central rite by which it is carried out: to baptize (greek baptizein) means to "plunge" or "immerse"; the "plunge" into the water symbolizes the catechemen's burial into christ's death, from which he rises up by resurrection with him, as "a new creature"

Our program consists of an initial interview with the pastor and/or pastoral assistant, a Saturday workshop and finally the celebration of your baby's baptism.

A folder of materials related to baptism is provided. It is necessary for both parents to familiarize themselves with the materials for a better appreciation of the workshop. After studying the materials, you can phone the office to pre-register for the workshop. The workshop consists of a discussion about the  materials, review of symbols of baptism, a short presentation by one of our pastors and an overview of how and when your baby's baptism will take place. After the workshop, you can phone the church to confirm the date of the baptism.

The workshops are held throughout the year.  The priest or the Director of Religious Education will notify you as to the date of the workshop.    A baptism will not take place if the parents have not attended the workshop.

Please note that there are no baptisms during Lent.
